Professor of Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto Univ.
Engaged in research and clinical applications of skin and soft tissue regeneration using artificial materials. To date, he has developed artificial skin (Pernac G Plus, Gunze Co., Ltd.) and a tissue inactivation device using high hydrostatic pressure (investigator-initiated clinical trial underway as of September 2021).
Majored in Skin Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine: skin surgery using the artificial dermis for chronic wounds in combination with growth factors and the cultured epidermal autograft for Giant Congenital Melanocytic Nevus.
President of Japan Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (2021-present).
